3 smart ways to reduce the amount of paper in the office

We live in the digital era. When we compare our style of living with the life that was just a few years ago, we must admit that there has been a lot of changes. Some for the better. But not all new inventions were a great idea. But we have stick with it. Most office people know the importance of handwriting. Not only to personalise the communication with the clients, but also to challenge the brain en be more creative. Smart office people use a high quality parker fountain pen. But this does have a disadvantage. Just think of the waste of paper when you would write everything by hand.

Sending an e-mail is a lot better for our world. But what do you do when you can’t think of an in between? A way to use handwritten letters and notes but also not to waste lots of papers? It is possible. But you’ll need to be creative. Here are 3 smart ways to reduce the amount of paper in the office without letting go of handwritten letters and notes.

1.     Digitally transformation


Most offices are completely digitalized nowadays. This means that there is hardly a piece of paper to find inside the office. How tempting this must seem, this isn’t the solution of course. You’ll need to write letters and notes. Just because writing by hand stays important. But this doesn’t mean you need to write everything down by hand. You can choose to transform some things in a digitally environment and leave others.

Just think of the importance of writing by hand and in which case this must be included. Think of hand-written letters for your old clients. Just to show them how much you care and how much effort you put into your communication.

You can also use cross pens and paper within brain storm sessions. Just to challenge the brain and think more creatively.

2.     Reduce the amount of paper inside the office


Just start reducing the amount of paper inside the office. Literally. Don’t buy as much paper anymore. Let the people use the amount of paper you’ve bought and nothing else. When your out of paper, they will need to think more creatively to write things down. And they will also be more responsible in the usage of paper.

You can also invest in some high-quality pens and spread these across the office. Therefore people will think more economical.

Especially larger companies have been around so long, that they’ve got many paper documents in their storage. Sometimes it’s necessary to look at this documents. But this does mean paper will remain to play an important role inside the office. That’s why you need to store all pieces of paper (scan them) and let them sit in a digital ‘office’. Therefore people can have digital access to the documents whenever they want. And you are able to remove the paper completely.
