PC (Poly Carbonate) is a tough and durable, transparent engineering thermoplastic notable for its high impact resistance, temperature resistance and optical properties.

Also known as PMMA (Poly Methyl-Meta Acrylate) is an amorphous thermoplastic prototyping material with very good optical properties. Acrylic is often used as a glass substitute. Acrylic is hard and stiff but it is brittle and notch sensitive.

About its characteristics: Its characteristic was similar with PC, high impact resistance, good dimensional stability, excellent strength retention at elevated temperatures, low coefficient of thermal expansion, good electrical insulator and having heat resistant and flame retardant properties.

Applications and weakness: Similar with PC.

3. PMMA is a kind of typically parts have translucent look after machining, but transparency can be achieved by highly polishing. Its property of strength, durability, impact resistance and transparency, make it become an ideal material for certain structural applications.
