Good news for bikers! Bajaj Triumph bike launch date has been announced. Mr. Rajiv Bajaj, Bajaj Auto CEO, has announced that the first set of bikes from their joint venture will be unveiled on June 27, 2023 at an event in London. However, the Indians have to wait a little longer to enjoy their ride on the new Bajaj-Triumph two-wheelers. The Triumph Street 400 and Street Scrambler 400 will most probably have their India debut around August-September 2023.

Triumph is known for their high-performance, luxury motorcycles. The fact that they have partnered with Bajaj is perceived as a great collaboration between two elite brands. The much awaited 400cc segment motorcycle is a product of their partnership.

With these new single-cylinder bikes, Triumph celebrates their venture into the entry-level mid-capacity space that has only witnessed the unfettered rise of Royal Enfield. . In this article, we will unpack some details about the upcoming wonders. Stay tuned!

Design:

What we have already gathered from different reliable sources is the new launch will have two body styles, a street scrambler and a naked street roadster.

On style front, Bajaj-Triumph scrambler 400 borrows inspirations from the Bonneville family, including the Speed Twin 900. However, Bajaj-Triumph product is not a look-alike of the iconic series. There have been efforts to give some modern touches to Triumph Street Scrambler 400. As a result, the ultimate product is expected to be a modern classic and not a new retro scrambler. Like other Triumph siblings, a vast range of OEM aftermarket is likely to be available.

Spy pictures have divulged some details about its design. These details are impressive. For example, the fuel tank looks like a tear drop. Slightly raked tail section and a round LED headlight will lend the bike a sensuous look. Every bit of style screams a Triumph signature. However, the 10-inch front wheel and beak-style front fender give the model an unmistakable character of ruggedness.

Hardware and Other Features:

A little is known about the kind of features and equipment, Bajaj Triumph 400 will hit the market with. However, we can safely assume that the bike could have LED lighting all around and a digital instrument cluster along with Bluetooth connectivity. It is likely to come up with a switchable dual-channel ABS system and ride-by-wire throttle.

We have high expectations that this premier offering will have high-end hardware. According to Spy images, the bike will come up with offset-type upside-down forks. These forks are supposed to offer more suspension travel than their road-going counterparts. The rear will have preload mono shock that is easily adjustable. The motorbike will most likely to have radially mounted brakes featuring discs at both ends.

Engine Spec List:

According to reliable sources, the Triumph Street Scrambler will have two engine options – a 400cc unit and a 250cc unit. Initially, the India-spec model is most likely to be presented with the 400cc engine. Nothing is known about the power figures. The liquid-cooled motor will probably produce around 35-40bhp and a similar torque figure. Sources reveal that the engine will be connected to a six-speed transmission and an assist. The model will feature a standard slipper clutch.

Given the liquid-cooling mechanism and larger capacity, the new launch will have a more powerful and advanced engine than the 350cc J-platform engine introduced by Royal Enfield.

Price:

Regarding price, no information has tumbled out. However, Bajaj Triumph bike price in India may force you to cough out a little more. The naked roadster could come with a Rs 3 lakh price tag whereas the scramble may command a few thousand more.

Bajaj has been trying to enter into the segment for years but got no significant success. So, a tempting price tag could help them achieve great success. A few more low-priced models are expected to roll down from Triumph’s manufacturing den over the next couple of years, which could expand the brand’s current reach to 120 cities. Triumph is currently operational in 15 cities.

Rivalry:

Primarily, the new launch from the Bajaj Triumph collaboration will face competition from the Yezdi Scrambler and Royal Enfield Scram 411. It will also feel the heat of rivalry from the BMW G 310 R and the KTM 390 Duke. Both Bajaj and Triumph will face fierce competition from Royal Enfield in the Indian market. Whether they will kiss success depends a lot on how these two companies will price their upcoming bikes.

Wrapping Up

The single-cylinder bikes from the mighty brands Bajaj and Triumph are to be launched on June 27 in London. The two motorcycles will be unveiled in India around August-September. The announcement has created a buzz among the bikers. The launches are highly expected to create new sensation in the segment that has been dominated by Royal Enfield for several years.

Going by the Spy Images, we can safely assume that the two-wheeler will have some signature features from the Bonneville series. The forthcoming launch is likely to come with many advanced features including an LED headlight setup, wide head cover, mate black coloured engine and USD forks.

If it comes to engine, the bike is likely to have a more powerful and advanced liquid-cooling unit. This will expectedly perform better than Royal Enfield’s 350cc J-platform.
