Hair loss is one problem that people from all age groups can suffer from. People all over the world suffer from issues like hair loss. However the reason of suffering from the said problem may vary from person to person. Some people may lose hair because they are getting old, others might lose hair because of a medical condition, and some may lose hair because of stress. Yes, you read that right. Stress can make you lose hair.

Stress has many different effects on the body which include increased heart rate and blood pressure, decreased immunity, insomnia or excessive sleeping, depression or anxiety. These are all factors that may lead to hair loss.

There are three types of hair loss problems caused due to stress

Telogen Effluvium

This a condition that causes hair loss may happen because of stress. Stress caused the hair follicles to go into a resting phase and then fall off. This can be triggered by any type of emotional, physical or even medical trauma. Emotional and physical traumas both lead to this cause but a study conducted on women who had undergone surgery found out that most cases of telogen effluvium were caused by the severe psychological stress experienced before and after their surgeries.

Trichotillomania

This is a condition that causes people to lose hair because they pull it out due to stress, depression or anxiety. It may not be as common as telogen effluvium but studies have shown that this disorder can cause severe hair loss. Those who suffer from trichotillomania usually have an increased level of cortisol in their blood which leads to the changes in hormones levels and also increases inflammation, both of which are factors believed by most scientists to lead to hair loss.

Alopecia Areata

This is a medical condition that causes people to lose hair on their scalp. This type of alopecia may be caused by the immune system attacking the hair follicles which can happen due to stress but more studies are being conducted to find out if indeed there is any causal relationship between the two factors.

Is Hair Loss Caused By Stress Permanent?

No, hair loss caused by stress is not permanent. The good news about this type of hair loss is that it can be easily prevented and treated with proper medication and appropriate lifestyle changes such as adequate diet, exercise etc. Stress causes the body to produce cortisol which in return affects testosterone levels thus resulting into baldness or poor quality hair growth. Avoiding stressful situations will help you prevent your hair from falling out prematurely because of stress alone. However if you do lose your hair due to excessive stress then there are medications like Finasteride (Propecia) used for treating male pattern baldness that may help grow back lost hair within a few months’ time frame assuming no other underlying medical condition found during diagnosis process. Once you start feeling better, your hair may become stronger and healthier than ever before. You should also eat healthy and take part in relaxing activities such as yoga, meditation and even listening music. This will also help in making your hair healthier.

How to Prevent Hair Loss

If you are losing hair due to stress then there are two things you can do. The first one is to try and take as little stress as possible. However, sometimes stress is unavoidable if it is caused by uncontrollable things like something tragic that happened in your life. This is where the second option comes in which can be equally as effective. That option is the hair growth serum by NULASTIN. Nulastin offers high-quality hair care and hair growth products that are fast and effective. You will start seeing the results in a matter of weeks. So what are you waiting for? If you are suffering from hair loss then you should definitely try the hair growth serum offered by NULASTIN.

If you are suffering from a severe case of hair loss and you are finding new bald patches on your head every single day then you should definitely consult a doctor as that might be the sign of an underlying medical condition.
