As a business owner, I have heard most of my clients say “thank you” when they make a transaction. I’ve also used that same two-letter phrase to let them know that they are much appreciated. But what else can I do to express my gratitude? Sometimes it feels like words aren’t enough, but that’s where client appreciation comes in! 

Client appreciation is about more than just a quick word of thanks at the end of a transaction.  It can be done in quirky and creative ways that showcase your company’s branding. So how do you do it? Here are some tips on how to make sure your clients feel appreciated.

Good Old School Greeting Cards

You may say, “No, that’s too old school for today’s technological age.” But I say, “It’s a classic personal touch that sends a memorable message to your client”. Business greeting cards show that you really took time to communicate with your client. You are not just sending a mass email to your clients using an automated system. Greeting cards can be humorous, sincere or elegant depending on the branding that you want to establish for your company. 

Seminars and Activities

You can offer your loyal clients free seminars and activities. For example, if you are an arts and crafts provider, you can offer them free DIY crafting lessons and activities.. It will be fun for your employees and serves as a marketing opportunity too. It’s an opportunity to let your customers know how your knowledge, expertise, and products can help them achieve their goals.

Client of the Month

We all know about the employee of the month, but why don’t we have a client of the month? It’s a great way to showcase an important client’s story on our social media pages and websites. Tell their story and how they were a blessing to your company. Let them know that they are a valuable part of your business.

Reader Rewards

Why not give your clients something to read that they’ll find enjoyable and helpful? If you’re an insurance company, you can give out financial advice books. Getting free stuff not only boosts your clients’ spirits, it also shows that you’re interested in helping them grow their knowledge and abilities alongside you. 

Loyal Royals

Create a loyalty program for your clients so they will feel like royalty whenever they’re doing business with you. Every purchase matters, and a loyalty program will encourage your biggest clients to continue using your products and services. Loyalty programs are not just a great way of showing appreciation; they are a great way to retain clients, too. 

Food For Thought

They say food is the way to a man’s heart, and it’s the same for clients too. Why not send a box of chocolates, cookies, or a basket of snacks to your loyal clients. For five years, I’ve been ordering cakes from the same baker despite the enticing pastries that the other booming bakeries are offering. Do you know why? Because the baker never forgets to send a basket of goodies to me before Christmas. It’s not just a basket of goodies. It’s a basket of appreciation. And I like being appreciated! 

There are plenty of strategies for showing your clients how much you care about them -- the only limits are your imagination!
