How to Connect to Router’s WiFi if it’s SSID is Hidden?

Windows 10

  • Turn on your device.

  • In the lower-right corner of your device screen, click on the WiFi icon.

  • Click on Network Settings then hit the WiFi > Hidden Network > Connect option.

  • Enter the router’s SSID (network name). Refer to the Netgear router manual to get the router default SSID.

  • Click on Next.

  • Now, enter the Netgear router network key or password into the provided field and click on Next.

Congrats! You have successfully connected your Windows 10 device to the router’s hidden SSID.

 

Windows 8

  • Firstly, turn on your Windows 8 device.

  • After turning on your device, see the lower-right corner of your screen. You see a WiFi icon. Hit it.

  • Once done, click Open Network and Sharing Center and select Set up a new connection or network option.

  • Click on Next - select manually connect to a wireless network and click on Next.

  • Enter WiFi password or security key.

  • Click Next.

That’s it! Your computer/ laptop connects to the to the router’s hidden SSID.

 

Windows 7, Vista

  • First things first, turn on your device.

  • Navigate to the Control Panel option and select it.

  • Thereafter, Network and Sharing Center option will appear upon selecting Control Panel.

  • Click on Manage Wireless Networks.

  • Once you’re done with applying the instructions listed above, click Add > Manually create a network profile.

  • Then, enter the WiFi password, select Start this connection automatically > Connect even if the network is not broadcasting.

  • Navigate to the upper-right corner of your screen.

  • Click the WiFi icon.

  • The network menu displays.

  • Click on Join Other Network and enter the password.

Your Mac OS X device connects to the router’s network sucessfully.

 

Android

 

  • Switch on your Android device.

  • Navigate to its Settings.

  • Click on WiFi > Add WiFi network option.

  • Enter the password and click on Connect.

Your Android device connects to the router’s hidden WiFi network.

 

iOS

Power on your iOS device and select the following options:

  • Settings

  • WiFi > Other

Thereafter, enter the network name (password) and click on Join.

Thus, your iOS device connects to the router’s network.
