How to Get the Results You Want

Know what you want

If you ever want to be successful in life, then you must I know exactly what you want. The world makes way for people who know what they want. This means having a plan and a vision for implementing that plan. As the White Rabbit told Alice, “If you don’t know where you’re going, then any road will take you there.”

Lack of clarity is one of the biggest reasons that people don’t get the results they are looking for. when you can get specific about your goals and dreams, then getting there becomes much easier. This might mean knowing why you want them. what would meeting these goals or achieving these dreams mean for you? You must have a why. It is the meaning, the reason why you’re doing something that makes all the difference.

If that reason is strong enough, then half the battle is already won. But if your reason isn’t strong enough for you, then that will explain why don’t get what you want. This is because you don’t get what you wish for. You get what you work for. Your goal should be one worth striving for. It should basically take your breath away.

Count the cost

Jim Rohn has defined progress as “measurable results in reasonable time.” That is what it takes to make sure that you don’t get distracted. Measuring your progress allows you to know immediately whether you are being successful or not. It is helpful to have goals written down. Seeing them allows them to crystallize in your mind. It helps to cut them up into smaller goals so that you can get some easy wins under your belt.

Rank your priorities

There are a great many important things in your life, all of them vying for your attention. but they cannot all occupy the same space at the same time, nor can they all be equally significant. Part of the art of getting what you want is knowing what to cut out, knowing what to keep, and knowing what to cast your focus upon.

Network

Achieving big goals means tapping into a system that is bigger than you are. Challenges will abound anytime you set out to achieve something that is worthwhile. Unless you have the right system of support and the right resources in place, you are making things unnecessarily difficult. Having friends, family, and close associates who are in your corner who are willing and ready to aid you in the realization of your dreams is an indispensable source of support. Make an agreement with a group to pool your resources, talents, or skills together.

Believe in your dream

Anyone who endeavors to achieve big goals, has to believe it’s going to happen for them. Without that strength of conviction, you will not have the force needed to keep going after disaster has taken the wind out of your sails. Neither will you possess the charisma to compel people to keep working with you and for you. Belief is having faith in yourself and what you are capable of doing. Faith is one of the most powerful forces in the universe. Never stop believing in something worthwhile.

Prepare for the worst

It is inevitable that a big dream attracts big obstacles. In fact, the bigger the dream you have, the more likely you are to encounter some major opposition. do not wait until a setback happens. from the very, from right after you begin developing your dream, preparing for every conceivable contingency.

Lights, Camera, Action!

No amount of preparation, belief, or clarity will amount to anything if you do not act. When it gets right down to it, you have to live the Nike motto, “Just do it.” Maybe that involves you personally getting off your seat, or it might mean getting others to act, which may be a little more challenging since you cannot control what others think, say, or do. However, there are ways to motivate other people. Here are several call to action examples:

Show them the bottom line. People like to know what’s going to happen. They are more likely to be supportive or at least come along for the ride, if they know where you are taking them and have a general idea of your plan. Are you doing this for something? What do you expect them to do? Is something in it for them? If you can answer these questions definitively, it calms their fears and suspicions.

Be honest about the negatives and risks. Don’t be evasive about hardships or bumps in the road. If it is going to take hard work, let them know that up front. Never make them promises that you cannot keep. And always let them know exactly what you expect will happen in a worst case scenario. Your honesty will earn their respect even if they have to turn you down. They may know someone else who would love to help. Every rejection is not personal.

Accentuate the positive. Just because you may have to mention the risks, doesn’t mean you have to focus on them. Be positive. Show how doing what you ask will help them get what they want.

Above all, throw down the gauntlet! Everyone loves a challenge. It calls to the competitive nature most all of us have deep down.

In conclusion, to be effective at getting the results you want, there are many other things you can do to ensure your success. Remember: Know what you want. Be consistent. It just takes a little commitment, hard work, and the ability to get others to help you. In no time, you will find out that you have the keys to getting virtually whatever you want.
