Know the Step-by-Step Process to Get an e-Aadhaar Card

Step 2: Locate the nearest Aadhaar enrolment centre, book an appointment, and check its online status

Following the filling up of the enrolment form, look out for the nearest enrolment centre to book an appointment online. Make sure to attend this appointment and furnish the documents mentioned above.

Following the submission of the document, a representative from the enrolment centre will collect your biometric details and a photograph and provide you with an acknowledgement slip. This 14 digit enrolment number acts as a reference number to check the status of the e-Aadhaar online.

Step 3: Download e-Aadhaar

Individuals can now use the reference number and track the online status of their Aadhaar Card. You can get Aadhaar card online after a fortnight from the date of submission of your documents. To download the pdf format of this document would now need to:

  1. Click on ‘download Aadhaar’ link on the website.
  2. Provide your preferred ID number (Aadhaar, enrolment ID, or VID).
  3. Enter your details like security code, name, ID number, and pin code (of the ID provided).
  4. Click on the request OTP option.

Following this, a onetime 6 digit password will be sent to your registered mobile number which will be valid for only 30 seconds. Using this number, go for Aadhaar card download on mobile.

Step 5: Use the Aadhaar Card password to open the Aadhaar Card pdf file

As soon as you download e-Aadhaar card, make sure to open this pdf with the help of a password (the first 4 letters of your name as it appears on your Aadhaar card followed by your year of birth in YYYY format).
