Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum Plot and Trailer
Before the release, the makers kept the plot of the movie under wraps. However, after it hit the big screen, many of us know the plot. The story is unique, engaging and will keep the audience on the edge.
The story revolves around Prashanth aka Pachu (played by Fahadh) from Chengannur. The shooting of the movie was done in Goa, Kerala and Mumbai. Pachu runs a franchise of an ayurvedic clinic in Mumbai. He dreams big but longs for love. He explores all the traditional channels to find love in his life. Unfortunately, all his attempts leave him disappointed and ultimately create the fountain of fun in the movie.
Pachu comes across Laila (played by Viji Venkatesh). Though she is a 71-year old lady, Laila exudes the energy of a teenager. She rebels against her son Riyas (enacted by Vineeth). Riyas is affluent but grumpy. The relationship between the mother and the son turns sour as Riyas behaves like an overprotective father and does his level best to prevent an adventurous and rebellious Laila from going out by confining her to their home. Though not malicious, Riyas’ continuous pursuit of wealth has destroyed the inner child in him and made him a self-centred, indifferent and hostile man.
Pachu, like Riyas, is after financial success and sometimes behaves rudely with those around him. Laila decides to travel to Mumbai with Pachu. Though inadvertently, he ends up upsetting Laila’s praiseworthy efforts of rescuing a girl from a miserable life trapped in a continuous loop of ignorance and poverty. An interesting twist emerges when Laila persuades Pachu to help her and complete what she initially wanted to do, bringing an intriguing turn to the story.
Pachu accepts Laila’s offer coz she promises him good gifts. Motivated by Laila’s offer that will serve his self-interest, Pachu agrees to help Laila in the rescue mission and finds himself getting dragged into the unfolding events. He undergoes remarkable transformation through his involvement in the rescue work and becomes a brave and compassionate man. Unlike Riyas, Pachu is a character loved by the audience from the very beginning. He is ambitious. Pachu wants to expand his business and earn more by using his charm intelligently. But he evolves in a different person worthy of respect by the end of the story.
At the heart of this comedy movie is a young rebellious girl Nidhi (brilliantly played by Dhwani Rajesh) who faces a tsunami of socio-cultural resistance for pursuing her academic ambitions. The movie shows how a few good people should come forward to fight wars against the society. Nidhi is lucky to have got help from some brave and kind-hearted persons. However, not every girl is as lucky as Nidhi who is blessed to have a guardian angel like an elderly lady, Laila, who is bold enough to help her in every possible way to fulfil her dream.
The movie is a directorial debut of Akhil Sathyan, the son of Sathyan Anthikad. Akhil Sathyan has also written the screenplays and done editing for the movie. Interestingly, Pachuvum Athbutha Vilakkum also marks Malayalam screen debut of three actors - Viji Venkatesh, Dhwani Rajesh and Anjana Jayaprakash. Both Dhwanig and Anjana made their appearances in Gautham Vasudev Menon’s Queen and Majid Majidi’s Beyond the Clouds respectively, Viji has started his acting career with this comedy movie. The movie has many cameos including that of Ahaana Krishna, Naslen and Shruti Hariharan.
Justin Prabhakaran has done full justice to the makers’ faith in him. His scores have added to the colours and taste the way viewers love to experience a big-screen drama.
