Training to Become a Successful Cadet Pilot

Becoming a cadet pilot requires rigorous training, both in theoretical concepts and practice. A series of interviews are often held by airline companies to find and hire the ideal candidates. A cadet post in aviation is generally used for a newly qualified pilot.

The airlines which are looking to hire cadet pilots require them to meet specific strict criteria. As a result, one must undergo training or orientation before taking up the cadet interview. Joining a flying school is almost always the best bet.

Here is what you should look for in a cadet pilot program.

Basic Preparation: When you enrol in the program, you will be given a starter kit that will help you get oriented with the theoretical as well as practical aspects of training. The subjects provided are such runway information, airport and airspace procedures and terminologies, and multiple necessary flight training procedures.

Training on the simulator: Once the first step is complete, you will begin simulator training. The simulators have been developed with incredible care and percussion, to mimic real-world practice as closely as possible. Flight sessions are expensive, and by practising on the simulator, you can use your time more efficiently.

Flight Practice: You will be assigned an aircraft with an expert instructor. You will experience a cockpit in real life, and the instructor will demonstrate several exercises. Through practice, you are expected to improve on these learned skills. Flight training is also crucial to develop familiarity with a particular aircraft and the onboard switches and controls. It is important that your training occurs in an aeroplane that has displays and avionics similar to commercial passenger jets.

Interview Practice: To become a cadet pilot, you must be able to accomplish the cadet interview. Through discussion, you will begin to understand the requirements to become a cadet pilot. You will be given tips and tricks to help you improve your chances in the interview.

Coaching with an experienced pilot: There will be several sessions with your instructor to ensure quality practice. Getting some advice from a captain with over a couple of decades of experience will help prep you for interviews with some of the airlines. The captain will help review your CV and your technical knowledge for such positions.

Advanced Simulation Scenarios: In these simulator sessions, you will learn how to perform some evasive measures that could be life-saving in the case of some mishap. These may include recovering from unusual attitudes to get the plane back to the regular speed and altitude. Scenarios such as spiral dives are something that cannot be demonstrated in real life, but the simulator will help you prepare. You can also get used to the standard operating procedures and practice radio calls while landing and taking off.

Undergoing all the above training steps will help you accomplish your goal of becoming a pilot. Going through each phase is crucial. Once you have completed all the above steps, you can be assured that you are fit for the cadet pilot position at any airline.
