Why Does My iPhone Go Straight To Voicemail? Here’s The Fix

While many of us prefer texting, there are times we need to know who's calling.

You'll need your iPhone to ring whether you're waiting for a potential employer or a friend.

What if your Call goes Straight to Voicemail without Ringing your iPhone?

There are various reasons your iPhone may not ring and send callers to voicemail. If this happens, try a couple of different troubleshooting methods.

Below are possible causes and fixes for why are my calls going straight to voicemail iPhone:

The Do Not Disturb mode must be disabled.

If you have your iPhone set to Do Not Disturb mode, any incoming calls will be sent to your voicemail, and you will not be aware of any notifications.

What do you need to do to turn off Do Not Disturb?

When Do Not Disturb is turned on, open the Control Center from the upper right-hand corner of the screen (iPhones with Face ID) or the very bottom of the screen (iPhones without Face ID). If you see a Moon icon that is white and purple, it means Do Not Disturb is on. Select the icon to turn it off.

Verify the Volume on your iPhone.

Why is my iPhone going straight to voicemail and Do Not Disturb is off? Maybe you need to check your phone's volume. This will not prevent calls from coming through, but it will make it difficult to hear them when they arrive.

If your iPhone is acting up, try restarting it.

If you can't discover anything else to configure your iPhone in such a way that calls are sent to voicemail, you should try refreshing the settings on your iPhone. You might try to smooth out the wrinkles by turning them off and then turning them back on again.

Update your iPhone if necessary.

Apple suggests that if you're having troubles with your device, you check to see if you're using the most recent version of iOS, even if you don't have this particular problem. Even if you don't have this problem, Apple recommends that you follow this recommendation.

Update carrier Related Settings

When your iPhone goes straight to voicemail you may need to update your carrier settings. Carrier settings control how your iPhone communicates with your wireless provider.

Outdated carrier settings on your iPhone may prevent it from connecting to your carrier's network, resulting in incoming calls going directly to your voicemail box.

Check for a Carrier Settings Update by opening the Settings app and tapping General -> About, If a carrier settings update is available, an alert will appear on your iPhone's display saying "Carrier Settings Update". If this alert appears, tap Update.

Call Forwarding Option must be Disabled

Call forwarding sends your calls to another number if you don't or can't answer them, There's also call forwarding unconditional, which will forward your calls without enabling your iPhone to ring or give you the chance to answer them, It's possible that your iPhone goes straight to voicemail due to Call Forwarding.

Open Settings and select Phone -> Call Forwarding. Disable the switch next to Call Forwarding.

Find out from your service provider if there are any issues

If none of the other possibilities is viable, you should contact your cellular service provider to inquire about the possibility that the company is dealing with widespread issues.
